May is in France the month of the Lily of the Valley.
Awwww the name in English is so cute! I love it!

For May 1 we use to give some Lily of the Valley.

'Cause it's the time of that flower and we use to think that they give good luck.

Its a sweet tradition, even if its a highly toxic plant.

May is also the lazy month in France.

May, 1 is a National Day (Work celebration, and for sure we don't work that day)
This year it comes a Thursday so most of employers give also the Friday. 4 days weekend.

May, 8 is a National Day (Victory and End of Second War celebration)
This year it comes a Thursday so most of employers give also the Friday. And with May, 12... it mean a 5 days weekend.

May, 12 is a Religious Day (Pentecost).

So, you have to know that the first 2 weeks of May, France is off.
